Headless Client architecture: a local product boundary instead of another control service

A Headless component does not automatically need to become another network service. In the reviewed MEMM path, the host-facing control surface is a local functional boundary; R1001 keeps the native boundary bounded and subscription-first without an independent polling owner.

A local boundary changes operational ownership

A separate control service introduces listeners, ports, service discovery and inter-process authentication. A local library or FFI boundary shifts attention toward process integration, lifecycle, threading, state transfer and update ownership.

What remains project-specific

  • Target platform and packaging.
  • Host lifecycle, update and rollback ownership.
  • Operational boundaries between the primary system, Headless component and external services.
  • Supported profiles, external versions and acceptance criteria.
